Please consult with a health care professional before starting any diet, exercise or supplementation program, before taking any medication, or if you have or suspect you might have a health problem.
The human body is made up of 3 different types of fat.
1. Structural Fat: cushions and protects the organs in the body. 2. Normal Fat: padding on our body such as the padding on the feet and hands. 3. Abnormal Fat: excess fat on our bodies such as our love handles, spare tires, bellies, backs, and saddle bags.
When you eat more calories than you need, the body stores the extra calories as fat. With a healthy metabolism, this normal fat is available for extra energy when no food is being consumed. However, when you consistently eat more calories than the body can use, over time, extra calories become stored as abnormal fat, which is then overlooked by the part of the brain that controls our fat storage. Locked away and forgotten, this abnormal fat is unobtainable to the body, no matter how much you diet and exercise to get rid of it.**
Dr. Simeons protocol outlines a very low calorie diet (VLCD), in combination with HCG. HCG triggers the diencephalon (hypothalamus) region of the brain to use abnormal fat for the bodys daily caloric needs. When the hypothalamus is stimulated, the body is able to release abnormal fat very quickly. A pound of fat contains about 3500 calories. While taking the hCG drops on the VLCD, the body uses the extra calories from the abnormal fat reserves, making up for the lower intake of calories. Therefore, your body will still be consuming enough calories to go about daily activities. Dr. Simeons, through his research, concluded that an abnormal operating hypothalamus is a leading cause of obesity.**
Dr. A.T.W. Simeons protocol, as detailed in his book, "Pounds and Inches: A New Approach to
Obesity"We highly recommend reading, and
re-reading this book before starting. PLEASE do your
research and planning beforehand - otherwise, if not
followed precisely and completely, you might be very disappointed with
the results. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH! We do not guarantee any results
and recommend
that you always work with a doctor's supervision for maximum
safety.**
What is the shelf life of Homeopathic drops and how do I store them?
Our homeopathic's come to you sealed from the manufacturer. Homeopathics have a shelf life of 12 months unopened when kept in a cool dark place. Once opened, your homeopathic drops will last around 6 months. We recommend keeping opened bottles in your refrigerator, though homeopathic drops are safe at room temperature, which makes them great for traveling with. Customers are encouraged to keep bottles clean and free of contaminates to prolong the potency of their drops.**
What is the correct dosage and when should I take them?
Each 2oz bottle is enough for a 40 day supply. We do suggest individuals purchase 2 bottles to ensure they do not run out of drops. Many times bottles have spilled or broken accidentally, and the second bottle is used as a back up.
Typical use: 10-15 drops, three times a day, or as directed by your health care professional. Place drops under the tongue. Take between meals. Store in a cool, dark place.**
** Note: Increasing dosage does not increase weight loss
Homeopathic instructions:
Take nothing by mouth 10-15 minutes prior to or following dosage. This includes food, drink, cigarettes, chewing gum, toothpaste, etc. Limit caffeine and nicotine.**
Succuss (shake against palm of hand).**
Place drops under the tongue and hold for 10 seconds to allow for absorption.**
Keep homeopathics out of direct sunlight.**
Homeopathics may generally be taken as the same time with other suggested homeopathics.**
If alcohol sensitive, the homeopathic drops may be put into a 3 oz. glass for warm water. Allow 1 minute for alcohol to evaporate, then hold under tongue no less than 10 seconds (may have to be taken in more than 1 serving). If the problem persists, alcohol sensitive persons may also get these remedies in pills without alcohol upon request.**
Why do Homeopathics contain alcohol?
The alcohol used in manufacturing is a pharmaceutical grade, non-grain ethanol as a stabilization & potentiation ingredient. This type of ethanol is the purest form of alcohol available, and it minimizes the possibility of any grain-related allergic reactions - an essential consideration in any medical therapy. When alcohol is not used as a stabilizing agent, glycerine is used as an alternative. Water is used in homeopathy as the base dilution medium, but it won't stabilize the ingredients. An unopened bottle that is strictly water without any alcohol or glycerine will probably have a shelf life of 1 week. According to HPUS regulations (homeopathic pharmacopeia of the United States) alcohol or glycerine is a requirement.**
Alcohol
sensitivities: If alcohol sensitive, the homeopathic drops
may be put into a 3 oz. glass of warm water. Allow 1
minute for alcohol to evaporate, then hold under tongue no less
than 10 seconds (may have to be taken in more than 1 serving).**
Does homeopathic HCG contain any real HCG?
Homeopathics
are based on the smallest particle size that will obtain results and
that will treat like challenges for the body, kind of like allergy
shots. For this reason, if you test homeopathic HCG on a pregnancy strip, the test will be negative. Pregnancy tests are made for prescription HCG not homeopathics. Prescription strength hcg may only be obtained by a prescription from your physician. Homeopathic remedies are prepared through a process
of diluting with pure water or alcohol and succussing (vigorous
shaking). According to the principles of homeopathy, the more diluted it gets, the more potent it becomes.
Do I need to see my doctor before starting the HCG protocol?
As with every new product, you need to consult your doctor or physician before beginning or taking any new product.
What about Medications?
Please continue taking all medications while on the HCG protocol.
How would a hypoglycemic follow the Protocol?
Your health care provider MUST be aware of your weight loss plans. Because Hypoglycemics must eat evenly spaced meals that contain protein it is best for them to divide their food into 4 meals spaced 3 to 4 hours apart - with the last meal being eaten before 7:00 pm.
How long can I take Homeopathic HCG?
Listen to your body. Phase 2 keeps us on the verge of protein deficiency, so we suggest giving your body a break to rebuild before venturing on. With the hhcg, you can go as long as YOUR body will let you.
Why are your prices so low?
The cost to manufacture homeopathic remedies is inexpensive. We also purchase in large quantities and are able to pass the savings on to our customers.**
Beginning the Protocol
We greatly recommend Journaling. The journal will be very helpful if you hit a stall during the protocol. Log what you eat and when, as well as what and how much you are drinking. Also log any changes including lack of sleep, Time of Month, stress, etc.
Make sure to take body measurements (and maybe even a "before" photo). You'll want to see if inches are leaving even when the scale stays put.
On the day you begin drops, begin your 'load' days (2 days) by eating/drinking as many healthy fats as you can. Greek Yogurt, ice cream, cream cheese, olive oil dressings, anything high fat. The more the better. Those who load best have the least problems with hunger and best success at priming the pump to release the pounds. It's like a jump start for fat burning.
Make sure that you load on full fat, protein, then "some" carbs. Have the carbohydrate you will miss the most, just make sure to add fat to it. For example, if you are a bread person, smother it in real butter or drench it in seasoned olive oil. If ice cream is your thing, choose the highest fat version you can (Ben & Jerry's is good), then make a cream shake. Use a little of the ice cream and add full fat ice cream to it to get it to the consistency you like. Have the pizza, but only eat the toppings. Have the biggest fattiest burger, but don't eat the bread. Think FAT, PROTEIN, then carbs. Make sure the protein selections are also high fat meats. Other options; homemade guacamole using bacon for dipping, or a chocolate cream cheese protein pudding.
On day 3 begin the 500 calorie menu. (see Dr. Simeons Protocol, "Pounds and Inches")
(pg. 23 begins diet specifics)
The Diet The
500 calorie diet is explained on the day of the second injection to
those patients who will be preparing their own food, and it is most
important that the person who will actually cook is present -the wife,
the mother or the cook, as the case may be. Here in Italy patients are
given the following diet sheet. Breakfast: Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoonful of milk allowed in 24 hours. Stevia may be used. Lunch: 1.
100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster,
crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before
cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled
without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled
fish are not allowed. The chicken breast must be removed from the bird. 2.One
type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard,
chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions,
red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.
3.One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba toast. 4.An apple or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit.
Dinner: The same four choices as lunch. The
juice of one lemon daily is allowed for all purposes. Salt, pepper,
vinegar, mustard powder, garlic, sweet basil, parsley, thyme, majoram,
etc., may be used for seasoning, but no oil, butter or dressing. Tea,
coffee, plain water, or mineral water are the only drinks allowed, but
they may be taken in any quantity and at all times. In fact, the patient
should drink about 2 liters of these fluids per day. Many patients are
afraid to drink so much because they fear that this may make them retain
more water. This is a wrong notion as the body is more inclined to store water when the intake falls below its normal requirements. The
fruit or the breadstick may be eaten between meals instead of with
lunch or dinner, but not more than than four items listed for lunch and
dinner may be eaten at one meal.
There
is no objection to breaking up the two meals. For instance having a
breadstick and an apple for breakfast or before going to bed, provided
they are deducted from the regular meals. The whole daily ration of two
breadsticks or two fruits may not be eaten at the same time, nor can any
item saved from the previous day be added on the following day.
Day 23 Last dose weight
You
take your weight in the morning and that is your LDW (Last Dose Weight)
even though you continue your drops as usual for the rest of that day.
The 21 days of Stabilization (Phase 3)
On day 24 or later
(depending on how long a round you do) begin Phase 3, the 3 days (72
hours no hhcg, still eating only the 500 calorie menu). Phase 3 is 21
days long. These 21 days are by far more important than all of the days you did the 500 calorie menu. If Phase 3 is not done correctly, then the hypothalamus will not re-set and your weight will begin to increase. Frustrations will set in and you will be back into the same old ways that got you overweight and unhealthy in the first place. Phase 3 is the time where you transition from living off your fat stores to a larger amount of normal food. The goal is for your body to stabilize. You have been living off of fat stores, so eating a higher fat diet in Phase 3 is a great start.
Gradually increase calories by eating high fat and proteins with carbs coming from fruits and vegetables. NO STARCH OR SUGAR allowed (not even melba toast)
We suggest continuing to avoid milk and yogurt for the 21 days of stabilization. The lactose (milk sugar) is too high. Many people have an intolerance to lactose. This intolerance causes inflammation which leads to fluid retention. However, you can have all other milk products: cream, cream cheese, sour cream, ricotta cheese, cheese, ect.
Veggies: Now you can freely mix your veggies, but you should limit them to the non-starch, non-sugar variety. No potatoes, corn, carrots etc. Eat the fibrous variety (i.e. Broccoli, Celery, Cauliflower). Fruit: It is best to not have fruit during your first few days stabilization. After that berries and grapefruit are the best. They are low-glycemic and fibrous.
No starch also means no grains or beans. Peanuts are not nuts, they are legumes...beans.
Nuts: Do not introduce nuts until you know you are stable. All nuts have some degree of starch. The best nuts for P3 are, macadamia (basically fat and fiber), almonds, and coconut. Once you are stable you can add new nuts one at a time and see how you react.
Make wise choices based on fat, protein and fibrous veggies and fruit. And Listen to your body...
Helpful Stabilizing Hints
1) Chewing food thoroughly and slowly.
2) Sleep 8 hours.
3) Eat dinner before 7:00.
4) Eat a snack every 2 or 3 hours.
5) Walk at least 15 minutes a day.
6) Drink lots of water. Toxins are stored as fat, so as your body releases fat cells, it is important to flush them out of your system.
7) Stalling? Dr. Simeons suggests, an apple day. This is where you eat only apples, up to 6 apples per day, one day only.
9) Stay away from artificial sweeteners, especially Splenda. Aspartame found in crystal light and diet drinks can make the protocol less effective in some cases. Instead, use Sweetleaf Stevia.
Phase 4- How long do I transition?
The last maintenance phase is where you begin to slowly add normal foods back into your menu, again maintaining your 2 lb window. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE STABILIZED IN PHASE 3...If you want, you can go back into Phase 2 (the low calorie diet) in 3 weeks. Maintain your stability for 3 more weeks and then do Phase 2.**
Or, you may begin to add starches and sugar slowly.**
Pick your "poison". Have a small serving and wait for 2 days to see how you react as far as any weight gain. If you experience cravings or the "carb crash" then do not have that item again, try something different.**
If you are DONE and want to move on to "real life", SLOWLY add in starches and sugar. Eventually, you can eat normally. All foods are permissible, but not all things are beneficial. If you keep that in mind, and eat less beneficial foods less often, the weight will stay off.**
Interruptions
If
you can't avoid an interruption, then you need to stop the drops 48-72
hours before you need to eat differently, continuing to eat the 500
calories. Begin P3 eating for the interruption (high protein and
vegetables.) When you are ready to start again, take the drops for 2
days (NO LOADING) then get back to the 500 calorie menu.**
Time of the Month- Do I need to stop taking Homeopathic HCG?
The
original protocol recommends stopping during your heaviest days while
continuing with the 500 calorie diet. (This was the protocol for the HCG
injections). Dr. Simeons said that if hunger and cravings became too
strong, women could return back to the HCG. Homeopathic HCG does not
require women to stop. Most women continue through their entire cycle
with no problems. Some, however, do still stop taking drops for their
heaviest days. You have to make the call based on your body. If you stop
and are extremely hungry or hit with cravings, start once again.**
The HCG protocol is known to result in having low potassium levels. Potassium is a needed mineral and electrolyte just like sodium, chloride, calcium, magnesium and other trace minerals. It's important for proper function of all your cells, tissues, and organs, including your heart, digestion, and muscles. And it can get quite low with this protocol.**
TOXINS can be released as you lose that fat!
Did you know that as you release fat from your body, you are also releasing all sorts of toxins? It is a biological fact that your fatty tissue stores toxins and excesses. Those toxins can range from what is found in plastics, to fluoride in water, to pesticides and estrogens in your foods, to cigarettes, to alcohol...anything. It would be wise and prudent to drink plenty of fluids to help remove toxins from your body. Talk to your doctor for more ideas.**
WHY YOU SHOULD LOVE YOUR LIVER
The Fat Connection
The liver is the major fat burning organ in the body and regulates fat metabolism by a complicated set of biochemical pathways. The liver can also pump excessive fat out of the body through the bile into the small intestines. If the diet is high in fiber, this unwanted fat will be carried out of the body via the bowel actions. Thus the liver is a remarkable machine for keeping weight under control, being both a fat burning organ and a fat pumping organ.**
If the liver does not regulate fat metabolism efficiently, weight gain tends to occur around the abdominal area and a protuberant abdomen (pot belly) will develop. Another sign can be a roll of fat around the upper abdomen. This is often a sign of a fatty liver. It can be almost impossible to lose this abdominal fat until the liver function is improved. Once this is done the liver will start burning fat efficiently again and the weight comes off gradually and without too much effort from you.**
The Liver Link
Your liver acts as the bodys washing machine, working constantly to clean and remove both internal toxins (those produced by your own metabolism) as well as external toxins (those produced from outside sources). Your liver also happens to be the production site of 80 to 85 percent of T3, the metabolism-modulating thyroid hormone.**
If the diet is low in fiber, some of the fats (especially cholesterol) and toxins that have been pumped by the liver into the gut through the bile will recirculate back to the liver. If this recirculated fluid is high in fat and/or toxins, this will contribute to excessive weight. A high fiber diet will reduce the recirculation of fat and toxins from the gut back to the liver. The inclusion of plenty of raw fruits and vegetables, as well as ground-up raw seeds, will increase both soluble and insoluble fiber in the gut, and reduce recirculation of unwanted fat and toxins. Some people find that rice or wheat bran, psyllium husks and unprocessed homemade muesli can boost fiber efficiently.**
If the liver filter is damaged by toxins or clogged up (blocked) with excessive waste material it will be less able to remove small fat globules (chylomicrons) circulating in the blood stream. This will cause excessive fat to build up in the blood vessel walls. This fat may then gradually build up in many other parts of the body, including other organs, and in fatty deposits under the skin. Thus you may develop cellulite in the buttocks, thighs, arms and abdominal wall. If the liver is dysfunctional, it will not manufacture adequate amounts of the good cholesterol (HDL), which travels out of the liver to scavenge the unhealthy cholesterol (LDL) from the blood vessel walls.**
Consider the following strategies for giving your liver a leg up:
Exercise regularly: Research shows that exercise helps to enhance glucose uptake in the liver, thereby lowering fatty liver disease.**
Consume high-quality dietary fiber: Enhance liver health with fiber, which binds to bile and eliminates fat-soluble toxins from the body.**
Supplement with extra B vitamins: These are essential for decongesting the liver and promoting fat metabolism.**
If you have a fatty liver it is vital to be patient, as it can take between 3 and 12 months, depending upon the amount of fat deposited in the liver, to remove the excess fat from the liver. However, this is very successful in the long term and provides the best chance of restoring your figure and your health.**
